The LEGO MINDSTORMS Remote Control enables remote control of robots or models by activating the RCX at a distance of up to 20 feet, or seven meters. When aimed directly at the brick, the remote control activates the RCX by using infrared light, operating the same way as a television remote control. It enables the operator to control one, two, or all three motor/output ports directly or to run any of the five RCX programs at a distance. It also has a beeper button, which indicates whether the RCX Brick is within range of the remote control, and a stop button. The remote control operates on two 1.5V AA batteries, sold separately.
